As Dr. Frank Akujobi marks his 50th birthday, he has chosen to celebrate this milestone by creating a lasting legacy, one rooted in opportunity, inclusion and the transformative power of education.

Dr. Akujobi is the Founder and CEO of Frankware Group, a Canadian consortium with a diversified portfolio spanning cyber risk consulting, real estate, private credit, and land resource development. A serial entrepreneur, he has founded and funded multiple startup ventures and is an active participant in investor networks. Beyond business, he is deeply committed to community impact, supporting a range of initiatives as both a volunteer and donor.

Dr. Akujobi’s journey reflects resilience, vision and a strong commitment to academic and personal growth. As an international graduate student in Carleton University’s Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, he benefited from scholarships, as well as research and teaching assistantships. These supports played a pivotal role in shaping his academic path, enabling his transition to Canada and laying the foundation for his long-term professional success.

Inspired by these experiences, Dr. Akujobi recognizes that while talent is universal, access to opportunity is not. He understands the unique financial, cultural and systemic challenges faced by many international students, particularly those of African descent, and is committed to helping bridge this gap.

Through the establishment of this endowed scholarship, Dr. Akujobi aims to provide meaningful financial support to graduate students, empowering them to focus fully on their studies, research and innovation. For him, this initiative represents more than just funding; it is a direct investment in future engineers, leaders and changemakers who will drive global technological advancements.

By supporting this award, donors can join Dr. Akujobi in creating vital opportunities for deserving students, helping to build a more inclusive and dynamic academic community at Carleton University. Join us in celebrating this 50th birthday milestone by contributing to the Dr. Frank Onyekachi Akujobi Graduate Scholarship Award, and help shape the future, one student at a time.
