Overview

Winter in Ottawa means the water freezes, but for the Carleton Ravens Varsity Rowing team, the winter marks the beginning of our next season. We know that races are won during the winter off-season. We are a dedicated group of student-athletes who train relentlessly year-round to compete against heavily funded programs at the provincial and national levels. To turn our winter grind into on-water speed, our training has to shift from the boats to the rowing machines and the weight room. This campaign is designed to support our athletes through this crucial winter block so we can hit the water stronger, faster, and ready to compete.

The Rollout

Every dollar raised will go directly toward subsidizing our team’s access to the Carleton High Performance Centre (HPC) for our off-season weightlifting program. Because rowing requires immense explosive power and endurance, winter strength conditioning is non-negotiable for injury prevention and in-season performance. Accessing high-quality strength facilities comes with significant fees. This funding ensures that every member of the team has the access to training in the HPC, completely regardless of their personal financial situation.
