The RO/CA (Rotterdam-Carleton) International Case Competition is a global, high-impact business competition jointly hosted by Carleton University and the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. From October 19-24th, 2025, it returns to Ottawa, welcoming top undergraduate students from world-class business schools to solve real-world business challenges with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and leadership. The event is a School-wide and community effort that brings together Sprott School student volunteers, faculty, and industry leaders.
The Background
We are seeking funds to help us host the 2025 RO/CA International Case Competition and bring this exceptional global event to Carleton. With a donation to our campaign, you are supporting access for Carleton students to represent the university on a global stage. You are also championing the values of education, sustainability, collaboration, and global engagement. This initiative reflects Carleton’s vision of fostering changemakers who will shape the future of business and society.
The Rollout
Funds raised will directly support student participation by covering expenses such as preparation resources for coaches, judges and volunteers. Contributions will also help us host teams from around the world, providing high-quality logistics, cultural and networking events, and professional development opportunities. All funds go toward enhancing the student experience and the professionalism of the competition itself.
The Impact
RO/CA is more than a competition, it’s a launchpad for growth. Participating students gain strategic thinking, public speaking, collaboration, and experience in real-world problem-solving. Academically, it enhances applied learning. Personally, it builds confidence and leadership. In the community, it strengthens Ottawa’s visibility as a hub for innovation and education. Alumni of past case competitions have gone on to launch impactful careers, empowered by their RO/CA experience.
