Overview
Ravens Racing is a multidisciplinary student engineering team from Carleton University that competes in the internationally recognized Formula SAE series. Since 1998, our team has been designing, manufacturing, testing, and racing quarter-scale, formula-style vehicles that embody innovation and performance.
With over 100 active members from diverse academic backgrounds, Ravens Racing provides students with hands-on experience in design, manufacturing, and systems integration, bridging the gap between theory and real-world engineering.
This year marks a major milestone: the development of an all-new racecar platform powered by a Kawasaki ZX6R engine. To ensure the success of this platform, Ravens Racing is dedicating the 2025–2026 season to complete vehicle redesign and fundraising. This focus allows students to explore advanced engineering design, project management, and innovation at a professional level, preparing them for success in the aerospace, automotive, and technology sectors.
The Background
Ravens Racing’s mission goes beyond building race cars, we build engineers. Our members are united by a passion for design, motorsport, and innovation, applying classroom knowledge to tackle real engineering challenges.
The Formula SAE project gives students the opportunity to:

The Rollout
Your contribution directly fuels our team’s success by supporting:
- Material Costs: Funding the purchase of metals, composites, and other materials required to manufacture student-designed components.
- Off-the-Shelf Components: Covering essential parts such as suspension hardware, electronics, and this year, a new set of ZX6R engines for our redesigned car.
- Competition Expenses: Enabling the team to transport our vehicle, tools, and members to international Formula SAE events for testing and competition.
